Senerata Bossa Nova Performing at Mahalo Art Center

Local singer-songwriter Jesse Lepkoff hosts an afternoon of warm Brazilian Bossa Nova style originals with a concert of his original songs, performed by himself and acoustic ensemble, Serenata Bossa Nova. The event will be held at the Mahalo Art Center at 972 Western Ave., West Brattleboro, Vermont, Sunday February 17^th, from 4-6pm.

This concert will celebrate the release of Lepkoff’s second solo CD, “I’ll Call it Ecstasy,” which joins his 2010 release, “View of the Past.” Songs from each of the CDs will be reframed for group performance. Serenata Bossa Nova is comprised of Lepkoff on vocals and guitar, Alison Hale on flute, Gary Henry on drums and Daniel Kasnitz on upright bass. The group focuses on traditional Bossa Nova songs, as well as original songs by Lepkoff. Lepkoff’s compositional style draws from Bossa Nova, and is also informed by progressive folk, classical and popular music.

“I’m so pleased to have this CD release party and present my original songs with this wonderful group of musicians.” said Lepkoff. “Mahalo is a charming space; the perfect setting for this event.”

Tickets are $12 suggested donation with packages that include signed copies of his CDs; $15 for admission and one CD, $25 for admission and two CDs. I have just been informed that Monday night’s charity basketball game between the Harlem Wizards and The Monadnock Marauders at the Keene High School has been postponed and will be rescheduled sometime in October so make sure to check out our blog for the latest info about this event.
